May 16, 2012 - exactly...especially performance artists. The voice is not the sole focus. Madonna elicits such a strange mountain of reactions in whatever she does. I suppose that's been good to her over the years, because when she sneezes, the world reacts. But its irks me that she is so under appreciated.

May 8, 2012 - Typically live vocals like these go through a vocal processor, which will sharpen the voice and add small details to it. I am not saying that her mic hasn't been worked to sound as good as possible, simply that it is live. I don't have the sheet in front of me that lists the effects stacks and processing equipment, but the effects were few. Simply adding reverbs and delays (common effects in most live mixes) to the voice can make it sound much fuller than it actually does.
